Found out when I got back to NZ last week that Stu had passed away. Condolences to Lydia and his family.
Was in the Pakuranga PlaceMakers store yesterday and spoke to the lady on special orders and we both remembered Stu. She told me he had worked in that store early on in his career!
Always greeted each other by by booming out our surnames across the room then would settle into a great chat about the work at hand and life in general.
A genuine bloke who will be missed in the data and analysis world and the wider Fletchers family.

Stuart was an awesome human being to work with, to laugh with and to struggle with when work was a bit rough.
Always appreciated his candour and wit when approaching problems, thank you Stu for all the encouragement.

I worked with Stewey @ PlaceMakers 1992-2002. His enthusiasm to help was greatly appreciated as was his data extraction skills and his patience, as he repeatedly tried to train me in using pivot tables, always enjoying being helpful. We seconded him & his data skills for a period into Category to support several of the Strategic Project Streams including the massive project realigning retail prices. Stewey´s contribution was invaluable to me. But keeping him focussed was a bit like herding cats as he tried to help anyone that asked (& sometimes got sidetracked playing space invaders down in IT ). Am so pleased to hear he met Lydia; am sure that added a whole new dimension to his life. My condolences for your loss Lydia & family.

I had the pleasure of working with Stuey @ PlaceMakers 1992-2002 in Maria Rd. His assistance extracting Category Data for me post ACE implementation & his absolute patience trying to teach me pivot tables was invaluable. His multi-tasking left a bit to be desired as I often found trying to keep him focused on the task at hand was like herding cats. But I learnt quickly, his difficulty focusing was due to trying to help everyone at once (although sometimes it was because he was playing space invaders in IT dept ). Am so pleased to hear that he met Lydia as I´m sure that added an incredible dimension to his life. To Lydia & family, so sorry for your loss.

Stu. I´ll always remember your warm welcome and smile when I first started at PlaceMakers some 27 yrs ago - and we continued to stay in touch at different times over that period.

You always had a joke to tell, some ribbing to dish out and made time to connect.

Will miss your warmth, smile and big heart.

Stu, I will miss our long chats where we solved all of the problems at PlaceMakers and then Fletcher Tech
You were always the most helpful person whenever I had a reporting problem or when I needed a piece of equipment.

I know many people in branches will miss you immensely as will I

Our thoughts go out to Lydia
and the other friends and family

Stuart was always up for some good banter, a joke or two and had a cheeky disposition so it was a pleasure to know him over the years at PlaceMakers. Stu was our BO reporting whizman and had so much knowledge. He will missed by so many and our thoughts are with his family and friends who will miss him dearly.

When I first met Stu, he reminded me of Rubeus Hagrid (Harry Potter) as more of a gentle and big-hearted personality. He will be very much missed as foremost a friend and colleague as part of the FletcherTech Data & Analytics team.

My condolences and prayers go out to his family.

I met Stu in 2009 and we married the next year. The past 15 years had its ups and downs, but I am eternally grateful that I got to share it with him. He was my rock, my best friend, my soulmate. Your messages mean the world to me, to see how many lives he touched. He will so greatly be missed by many.
For those who can and want to attend, Stuart's Memorial Service is on Friday, September 13, 11am at 81 Franklin Road, Pukekohe.
Forever in my Heart, I will love you until the day I die.

Stuart was a person who consistently put others before himself. When we initiated our charity fundraising efforts, Stuart was among the first to ask, "How can I help?" He deeply understood and respected the journeys of others.

Additionally, it was my privilege to work alongside Stuart. His kindness, humor, and remarkable ability to think outside the box was truly incredible.

My condolences to his family and his work team.

10 year ago, I work with Stu for around the best part of 15 years at Placemakers. We had a lot a fun and laughs, and many many discussions on data lakes and forrests. That along with quite a few drinks and dinners to boot. Condolences to all Stu's friends and family.

I remember Stuart being brought to me in about 1983 for approval to be employed as a cadet at Winstone Trading, later to become PlaceMakers. He impressed me then and I have had no reason to change my mind since. We also both grew up in Ngaruawahia, although in very different decades. My condolences to the family.
