Stephen MEAD Obituary

Mead, Stephen Brian (Steve). Passed away unexpectedly on 26 March 2026, aged 73. Dearly loved husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A service will be held at Scott Funeral Services, Kerikeri, on Wednesday 1 April at 10:30am.

Hello Belinda, that was a shock to hear that news. I only found out yesterday. I met you briefly at Lygon cafe in Waipapa. One of my fond memories of Steve was when he sat in the Staffroom at Northland College and cut pencils into three and sharpened the ends so kids found it less easy to break them. He was a very good teacher and very good at Maths in particular, an ability which has eluded me. His nickname given by another teacher was Superstar Steve!
