Stella Spencer Obituary

SPENCER, Stella Wanda. Peacefully on 22 January 2011 at Caughey Preston Hospital in her 84th year, beautifully cared for by the Staff at Caughey Preston Hospital and attended by her sisters Adele and Bernice and their families, and her dear friend Iris. Loved by her many friends in England where she made her home. Sister of the late Phil, Emily and Meryl. Daughter of the late Hazel and Robert. A service will be held at the Church of St Alban the Martyr, 443 Dominion Road on Wednesday 26 January at 11.00am followed by interment at Hillsborough Cemetery.

I knew Stella for many years as I rented the small room in her elegant Palace Court flat. Stella was simply one of those people who saw through the negatives and focused on how beautiful life was. We became close friend's, especially when my own life took a negative turn, Stella never judged. When my own beloved Auntie Jane passed, Stella was kind and loving. I know many years have passed since Stella's own passing, but I wanted to write now and let her family know how loved she was and how she will always be remembered. Mark Peaker
