Dear Paget and family,
I was just looking up Stella to refer a friend to her and am very saddened to learn of her untimely death.
I remember you both, but had more to do with Stella, from PMH. She was always so friendly and kind, even to the nurses!
Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Dear Paget and family, I met with Stella as a Kiwi abroad, training with the top researcher and consultant in Women's Health (Prof Nick Panay) - was trying to liaise so Stella could come up and train with him in London, this was the Summer prior to Covid Lockdowns, she was very concerned for her sister who was unwell in London, and (wisely) cancelled as I'm sure it would have been very difficult getting back into the country. Like so many others I was touched by her groundedness, authenticity, energy and enthusiasm for her field of interest, she also had the aura that made you feel as though you had known her forever. I'm sure your sense of loss is unspeakable, but please take some reassurance in knowing she has touched so many lives in a positive and lasting way. My thoughts are with you all...

Stella felt like family. I had so much trust in her, I felt seen by her and she had more impact on my physical wellbeing than anyone else I can name. I didn't realise just how profound her role and impact on me has been until I heard the news of her untimely passing. It is warming to read others' comments and see that she touched so many people, with her warmth, care, wit and incredible knowledge and skill. Go well Stella, and thank you for everything you have done for others. Arohanui xx

I was incredibly shocked and saddened to hear the passing of Dr Stella Milsom. She was my endocrinologist for the past 10 years and if it was not for her I wouldn´t have my family today. She was an incredible doctor, very knowledgeable, so passionate and would never stop advocating for her patients. Her passing is a huge loss. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

I was totally stunned to hear of Stella's death.
Stella has been my endocrinologist for almost 40 years. She was always so kind, compassionate and positive as well as so knowledgeable and talented in her field. It felt more like visiting a friend than seeing the doctor. She always greeted me so warmly and i always left feeling positive and buoyed for what the future might bring even in my most difficult times. Stella thank you for all you brought to my life. To your family i extend my deepest condolences. I pray that in time your broken hearts will be soothed by the lovely memories you have of time spent together. Haere ra e arohanui Stella .

Dear Paget, Richard & Antonia,

We were incredibly shocked to hear that Stella had passed away after a short illness.
I worked for Stella for many years & fondly remember her zest for life & her total dedication to the many patients she cared for.
Please accept our sincere condolences & we are sorry we couldn´t attend her service on Friday, due to living away.
We both have very fond memories of times spent on the farm, & the fantastic health support both Stella & Paget gave to both of us.
She will be sadly missed by many.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Stella's unexpected passing this month. For over two decades I have been accustomed to seeing her in her Tuesday office at Greenlane, and despite her very full schedule, she was always happy to stop for a brief chat about life generally as well as clinical complexities. Stella had incredible intellect and inspired so many in women's health. I feel lucky to have benefitted from her generous sharing of knowledge over the years and will strive to honour a small part of her legacy. On behalf of the women's health psychology team at National Women's I pass on our sincere condolences to Stella's family and loved ones. and am sorry I can not be there in person today

Dr Stella Milsom was a hero to so many in NZ, she continuously fought for equality in the funding of women´s health medication. During our appointments she would tell me about her fight for fair funding, that she would remain on their case until it came through. She stood in the gap for thousands of women.

She guided many through the hardest seasons of their lives with such kindness & care. She will be so missed.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Dr Milsom. As one of her longstanding patients she carried out her duties with the utmost care, pragmatism and intelligence. I enjoyed my interactions with Stella as I always came away with new insights into my condition, and confidence in my treatment plan. My sympathies are with her family and her many colleagues and patients who will be feeling the loss.

Dear Paget

Deborah and I are so very sorry to hear of Stella's death - it must be very hard for you and all the family to loose Stella especially when you all expected to have so much more time together in her retirement.

I would have very much liked to join the farewell to Stella on Friday, but our son, his wife and baby happen to be returning to London the same afternoon.

I have so many strong memories of Stella's dedication to her patients and specialty, her very high standards, and her friendly regard for staff that made her an exceptional colleague.

For the past 27 years Dr. Stella Milsom has been my endocrinologist. Her exceptional medical expertise and thoughtful guidance have helped me manage my condition yet it was her genuine interest in me as a person that made her so much more than just a doctor. She was genuinely interested in my work, my family, and my well-being-offering wisdom and practical advice at every appointment. I am deeply saddened by her sudden passing and will miss her greatly. I had just recently been thinking of her, looking forward to sharing my next adventure with her. To her family, friends, colleagues and numerous patients, I extend my heartfelt condolences. Although Dr Milsom leaves an irreplaceable void, her legacy of expertise and care will endure.
