PILLAR, Stan. Of Ngaio and Wadestown, peacefully on 24 February 2025. Husband of the late Lyndie, proud father and father-in-law of Murray and Jane, Kevin and Tina. Special thanks to the staff at Ward 5 North, Wellington Hospital and Mary Potter Hospice for their outstanding care. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Mary Potter Hospice. Our deepest condolences to Murray and Kevin. We were long time neighbour's of Stan and Lyndie and the boys. I had many a discussion with Stan on the side of the street or up my drive. They were always interesting chats . Some lasted over an hour but I always came away a wiser person. He was a great historian of Ngaio. RIP Stan and Lyndie.

Stan was a major influence in my life as a scout master of the Wadestown troop in the 50s. The memories of a good bloke remain.

Stan was my Wadestown group scout leader for a number of years from mid 1950s to early 1960s. A man with strong morals and principles who guided my friends and I on our teenage journey and at the same time imparting knowledge and teaching us so many skills that have kept us in great stead throughout our lifetime. Fondly remembered.
