I worked as Sir Michael´s personal secretary in the late 1960´s and early 1970´s. Sir Michael was a great person to work for which made my job enjoyable. During his term as Governor General I had the pleasure of meeting him again when our daughter was presented her Queen´s Guide Award at Government House in Wellington. RIP Sir Michael.

Sir Michael & I had a soft spot for each other - especially from mid - 1997 until he retired as Governor-General.
I was his constitutional ally in this time frame - & I remain grateful to him forever for his affection & support.
Rest in Peace, Sir Michael.
