Simon BUTCHER Obituary

Butcher, Simon John. Passed away peacefully on Wednesday 4 March 2026 at Harbour Hospice, North Shore, Takapuna, aged 57, surrounded by his loving family. He was the much loved and treasured partner of Helena (Rodrigues Morais Andrade) and the adored father of their two young boys Aloisio and Rafael, and his two beloved older children Sophia and Stella. Simon was the much-loved son of John and Rosemary Butcher and greatly loved brother of Tenison and Angela and their respective spouses and children (Fiona, Taylor-Ann, Lily, Beau and Bobbi, and Nicholas, Olivia, and Chloe). Simon received love and wonderful support from Helena's father Marco and her mother Ana who helped in caring for Simon. Following the wishes of Simon, Helena, and the family, a private service will be held on Tuesday 10 March in Auckland. We wish to thank all our family and friends for their loving care and support for Simon, Helena and children. A memorial for wider family and friends will be held at a future date.

We are sorry to hear of Simon's passing. He was a neighbourhood friend, who we met through the girls being friends with our daughter. We hung out as families several times and Simon helped us with some pretty big building projects. I remember him as being a great father to Sophia and Stella. He was full of energy, great ideas and a truly interesting person to have conversations with. He lived a very colorful life. May he rest peacefully now.
