HOFFMAN, Shyreen Patricia (Paddy) HOFFMAN, Aaron Arthur (Arthur) 438012 RNZAF WWII Flying Officer Dearly beloveds Arthur and Paddy Hoffman died peacefully in their sleep, within days of each other, on Tuesday 28th and Thursday 30th April 2015. He was 95 and she was 90. Arthur, a Retired Serviceman, and Paddy, daughter of the late Senator Dr Herbert Quin, were an admirable couple, married in 1946 and together until the end! They will be greatly missed by their son and daughter-in-law, their four grandchildren (all in the UK), their siblings, nephews, nieces, many more relatives and dear friends - across many parts of the world. His soft composure and her exuberant nature brought so much joy to us all. A double funeral service to celebrate the lives and love of Arthur and Paddy will be held at the Silverdale and Districts RSA, 43a Vipond Road, Stanmore Bay, on Tuesday 12th May 2015, at 10am (Auckland, NZ). All family and friends are warmly invited. Donations, if so desired, may be made to Silverdale RSA. We love you both so much. May you rest together peacefully.

On behalf of the Shingleton family I would like to offer my condolesences to the family. We have such lovely memories of Mr and Mrs Hoffman living next door to us at 166 Waddington Drive Naenae. As children we enjoyed being able to pick the redcurrants from their garden in exchange for our blackcurrants. Our dad would make jam that we all enjoyed. Shane was always around until college and one of our cousins Heather had a bit of a crush on him. Arthur gave our sister Adele away at her wedding due to our Dad being sick. We will always remember them both, wonderful people.

My sincere condolences to Shane and family in the loss of much loved parents and grandparents. Paddy and Arthur were great friends of my parents and although we lost touch in recent years, I remember the family well as I was growing up. Arthur was also a work colleague of my father's. A lovely kind couple with a delightful sense of humour. Kind regards.
