Shirley WITHEFORD Obituary

WITHEFORD, Shirley Rae. On 15th July 2024, Aged 88 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Ron. Loved mother and mother-in-law of Bruce and Lal, Keith, Kaylene and John Bassett, Stuart and the late Tracy, Owen and Nikki. Mother-in-law to Sheila. Loved nana of 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Shirley's life will be held at the Wellsford District Community Centre, Matheson Road, Wellsford on Tuesday 23rd July at 12:30pm, followed by burial at Minniesdale Cemetery. I enjoyed reflecting on a significant period of my life with the Witherfords today - Your mum was in Sunday school playing the piano - Creating Sunday School Anniversaries - with my mum, plus creating the greatest Girls Rally in NZ together. I remember Sing Songs on a Sunday night at your house ( and bon fires) - Ron on the mouth organ - Has favourite song was #2 in the back of Redemption Hymn Book. The combo of Ron ( teaching me to play hockey ) and Shirl just being their and then doing lots of life with Bruce and `keith - like waging sunday school down the bush pushing over trees with an old jack thing. Your parents were good people - and their kids did them proud today - Would it be possible to get a copy of the photo of the Rally leaders that was on screen today - Take care - Carl
