Shirley RANKIN Obituary

RANKIN, Shirley Zillah (nee Lovett). Born 25th June 1928 to Lawrence William and Maryann Lovett. Despite a long and courageous battle Mother passed away at Pukekohe Hospital on the 21st March 2024 in her 96th year. Loved wife of the late Keith Ian Don Rankin. Dearly loved and cherished Mother of Susan, Brian, and Grant (deceased). Loved and respected Mother- in-law of Peter and Debbie. Loved adopted Mother to Lynn and Neil. Much loved and treasured grandmother of Paul and Jo, Jacob (deceased) Oliver and Tuba, Kate and Tarres, Shelley, Sheldon and Cass. Adored great grandmother of Dominic and Amy, Natalia, Emily, Luke and Kahu. Sincere thanks for Mother's amazing care in recent years goes to her G.P. Dr Lorraine Forbes, her Geriatrician Dr Tanya Compton and their staff along with the team at Franklin Hospice. Mother's message to all those who loved her and will continue to remember her is … "Don't remember me with sadness, Don't remember me with tears, Remember all the good times that we shared throughout the years" In accordance with Mother's wishes the family have held a private service to celebrate her long and full life. Shirley was a special work mate for many years (M.O.T.) as well as a good friend ever since. We kept in touch via Peter and Susan more recently. She will be missed, but remembered as a "good woman"
