Mc PHAIL, Shirley Janelle (Shirley-Jan) (nee Mitchell). Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle, on 12th January 2018, aged 64 years. Cherished wife and best mate of Vern. Much loved Mum and mother-in-law of Kylie and Johnny. Loved Nana of Slade, Dylan and Texas. Loved sister and sister- in-law of Douglas (deceased); Marilyn (deceased); Lance and Robyn; Stephen and Mary. A service to celebrate Shirley's life will be held at the Founders Chapel of Remembrance, 117 Rickit Street, Taupo on Thursday 18th January 2018 at 2.00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations to the Lake Taupo Hospice Trust (Inc.) would be appreciated and may be left at the service. Communications with Shirley's family c/- PO Box 940 Taupo. The team at Silhouette Fitness are very sad to hear of Shirley's passing. I met Shirley who came to see me about our Pink Breakfast last year. She told me her story and asked if she could speak at our breakfast. She spoke with such passion and empathy. What struck me the most was her positivity. She was an inspiration that day along with all the other speakers. These women had such an impact that our guest the prime minister at the time Bill English stayed well over time which caused him to be very late for his next meeting. But he wasn't concerned and wanted to stay as he was very deeply impacted as we all were with how brave these women are. I'll never forget that day. I am so very sorry for your loss. Our deepest sympathy xx
