Poppy MACKENZIE-FAY Obituary

MACKENZIE-FAY, Poppy Rose. September 26, 2007, Sunday August 31, 2025. We are beyond heartbroken to announce the passing of our free-spirited, gentle-souled daughter, Poppy Rose Mackenzie-Fay, after a tragic accident. She was deeply loved by us, her friends, her grandparents, her aunts and uncles and many cousins. Poppy was the elder daughter of Sandra Fay and Dean Mackenzie, and very loved sister of Clover. She was the granddaughter of Helen Fay and the late Albert Fay, and granddaughter of Raewyn Mackenzie, Keith Mackenzie and the late Helen de Groot. We wish to extend our profound appreciation to the Paramedics and Cardiovascular ICU teams at Auckland Hospital for their tireless efforts for Poppy and their deep empathy for all of us In honour of Poppy, an annual perpetual scholarship has been established in her name at Epsom Girls Grammar School for those girls wishing to study in the field of STEM at university, just as she had intended. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hato Hone St John. Poppy's funeral will be held at Purewa Cemetery, Remuera, Auckland, this Saturday, September 6, at 2pm. Poppy, we will always love you. We will miss you forever.

Sandra, Dean and Clover, there are no words to express how deeply sorry we are for the devastating loss of Poppy. We will always remember fondly the fun times Saskia and Poppy had playing and doing creative projects together during their primary school years. Poppy was such an amazing young person.
