Thank you Selwyn, you helped change my life's direction. We were both Churchill Fellows in the 1970s, Selwyn took his fellowship in the UK to study employment and disabled people; I was in the UK and went to the USA to study Rehabilitation After Accident and Illness. Afterwards I fancied visiting and working in NZ and when Selwyn received my CV, he offered me a job at the then Crippled Children Society where he was the General Manager of the Auckland branch. It was the best move I could have made and I'm still in NZ over 45 years later! Selwyn, I owe you so much and thank you from the bottom of my heart. My condolences to the family, as we farewell a man who was so caring, a true friend to the disability sector. RIP.

Selwyn is a bit of a legend in Singapore. We still talk of his last visit. Proud to have known him. Thoughts and prayers to the family

Thank you Selwyn for your friendship and your encouragement of me. Thank you for encouraging the staff at "Crippled Children Society" to be courageous and try new things like computers to enable disabled people to be able to contribute to society. You will be remembered at the 90th celebration of CCS Disability Action in Auckland next week. To Judy, Brian and the rest of the family you will be in my thoughts and prayers as you farewell Selwyn on Friday. Unfortunately, I will be at an Anglican Women's hui doing a session on Disability at the time of the funeral. I will be thinking of you all. All my love
