I realize I am a bit late with this, but I can't in all good conscience just let life pass on by without saying what Sam meant to me. Sam was my primary school teacher for four years at little Oromahoe school back in the 1970's. (Roll in 1978, my last year there, was 39 pupils) I can't say he ever taught me much, but what he did do was allow me and my classmates to just be kids without the fear of the cane hanging over us like teachers before him had done, and for that I will forever be grateful. We were allowed to be ourselves and weren't forcefully molded into something we were not which was often the norm for those days. Those four years were the happiest of years for me, and the beautiful memory of them has carried me through some of the darkest periods of my life.
I sincerely hope you are resting in peace, Sam, and you will never be forgotten by me, nor I believe by many of my old classmates whom I am sure hold the same fond memories towards you that I do.

Thank you so much Sam for all you (and Norma) taught and did for us at Oromahoe School and later. You gave us the most amazing educational start and memories we'll treasure forever. You were also our friend. God bless - we know you are at peace now with Norma at your side.
