She so loved her association with the Magyars

A friend of 55 years beginning at the Kelston School for the deaf and then meeting in London and Hong Kong over the years. Rowena was an esceptional person, giving care and love to all she came in contact with and practised true Christianity. Rowena was a teacher of excellence of deaf and deaf-blind children guiding them to full lives within our society. I spent today recalling our times together and smiling at all the positivity and love that Rowena gave to our relationship. You will always be remembered Rowena as an exceptional human being that can be expressed in he Yiddish term: a real mensch.

RIP dear Rowena

To all Family and Friends of Rowena. We send our thoughts and prayers to you all. Our parents the late Rose and George Miller worked with her when they were on the staff at Kelston Primary School in Auckland in the 1960s. Rowena taught deaf children there as the Kelston School for the deaf which was situated next door had a deaf unit at KPS. Our father was a teacher at KPS and our mother was the school secretary. When Rowena left KPS, she taught deaf and blind children. When Rowena was on trips and at Christmas time she would send very interesting newsletters. On a bouple of occasions when Rose & George did travel to Wellington, Rowena and her late husband extended very kind hospitality to them. Rose & George's Oldest son was in Welington one year visiting his grown children and grand children and Rowena extended the same hospitality to them too. When our mother Rose passed away nearly 2 years ago,Rowena sent a very nice message via Facebook. It was a surprise to learn that Rowena had passed. We know what a strong Christian woman Rowena was. Although this is a sad time we must remember that she is now resting peacefully. Best wishes from the Millers- Jamie & Family, Ed and Family and Peter.
