Manning, Ross Charles. In loving memory. Ross passed away into the Ocean of Light, surrounded by his family on 8 July, aged 77 years. Beloved companion of Mary. Precious father to Lorien & Anita. Loved brother to Susan & John. Treasured Granddad to Asher. A heart of gold, Ross will be sorely missed by his friends and whanau. We will be holding a celebration of Ross' life on Saturday, 12 July.

How very sad to hear about Ross. I remember him as ‘the boy across the road’ in Totara Rd. The last time I saw him was many years ago when he was running a very successful restaurant in Auckland; one evening we booked there and all the Harkness family trooped in, much to his surprise. Some 70 years ago I stayed with my cousin Ross in Christchurch. We went to the movies together. It was our last meeting. I wish you well as you celebrate his life.
