HYLAND, Ross. In Loving Memory of Ross Hyland. It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ross Hyland (Roscoe), who left us peacefully at his home on November 9th, 2025, in Waiuku, New Zealand at the age of 83. Ross was a beloved father, partner, and friend. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gavin Hyland and Myranda Hyland, his former wife, Ellen Hyland, and Sons, Greg Thomson, Jeff Thomson, Robbie Thomson and David Thomson and their families, as well as Matt and Kelly Dennet, Marilyn's daughter, and their family, who were all dear to him. Ross was preceded in death by his son Alex Hyland, and his parents Clifford and Gwenda Hyland, his brother Stewart Hyland and his life partner, Marilyn Rose. Ross had a profound love for the outdoors, enjoying fishing and duck hunting, and treasured the moments spent at his batch on the river with family and friends. Ross took joy in making homebrew beer and sharing Port with friends. His dogs and cats were a constant source of happiness and companionship in his life. He was a skilled mechanic that served the Waiuku community for over 50 years, earning the respect and gratitude of all who knew him. A lover of good company, and a good joke, his witty nature and puns will be missed by all. Ross's legacy and spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. A celebration of Ross's life will be held at the Waiuku Cosmopolitan Club, 4 Victoria Avenue, in Waiuku on Wednesday, 26th of November at 2.00 pm.
