John WILKINSON Obituary

WILKINSON, John. Peacefully in hospital on 23 January 2026, aged 70 years. Beloved Husband of Lindy, much loved Dad to Tom and Father-in-law to Kirsty, Son to the late Les and Hilda. Brother- in-law to lain and Ady, Uncle to Kate, Nick and Brigette. A passionate educator, John will be fondly remembered by whanau and friends both here and overseas. Celebration of John's life will be held at All Saints Chapel, Purewa Crematorium, 100-102 St Johns Road, Meadowbank, on Friday 30 January 2026, at 2:00 pm.

Worked with John for almost ten years at MRGS - have fond memories of him - in particular at book week as Hagrid. Was always a kind and caring teacher - wish I was there to pay my respects for the funeral.

Dear Lindy and family. Sending love and condolences to you all on the sad death of John. Trevor talked so fondly of John and Lindy , he greatly admired John and enjoyed working with him at Grammar. I own and manage a BnB in the Coromandel and unfortunately won´t be able to attend John´s funeral. My mother Mary will attend on my behalf. Be kind to yourself John´s list will be greatly felt.
