So shocked and saddened to find this news. Remembering all the fun, exciting and laughter filled time we have spent together over the years.
I first met Rosie when I moved to Galatea and she was the DP. Such a strong teacher and support to many, she combined her extensive local knowledge and love of children to provide such interesting and rich classroom programmes.
Rosie had such a fun side to her, I remember many a party together, even one at her home were we spilt a whole bucket of cocktail mix on the carpet and had to clean it up before 'someone' returned!
We have loved following Rosies travels over the years and had the pleasure in 2008 of visiting and staying with Rosie in Shanghai. She was such a wonderful host, ensuring that we got to all the sights but also giving us a relaxing haven (with a pool) to relax next too in the middle of our 5 weeks in China.
When our children were younger, Rosie sent the most exciting christmas parcels to the kids full of special treasures from China and her travels.
Sadly, in the last couple of years we have stopped keeping in contact. Rosie I am so sorry to have let the busyness of life get in the way....
We will treasure your excitement and passion for travel, your love of friends and your joy of teaching. Rest in peace

Rosana was the kindest most compassionate person I ever knew, and I was so fortunate to call her my friend for the past 25 years. Love you forever, Rosie.

We already thought that Rosana wouldn't want Flowers but donations. Could you provide the details of the hospice and the foundation to our email?

Rosana was my son's humanities teacher at SIS Shekou. We only had the honor to have her as a teacher for a couple of months but this short time already had a huge impact on Ben.
A person, so calm, so kind, so full of joy and love - this is the teacher everybody wishes for their children and this is the person everybody wishes to meet at least once in their life. We have been very very fortunate to meet Rosana and to feel her beautiful personality.
We are happy that we had the chance to help a little bit during her last weeks in Shenzhen. To make life a little easier at least with some good food. We miss her deeply and especially Ben is suffering a lot. We are very happy that she had the chance to fly back home and see her family and to get to peace. His only thought is if she got the chance to read all their letters but we are sure that she is another star now, watching over her family and her students. In Germany we say "the best always have to go first" and that is what she was and will always be "THE BEST".
Our deepest condolences to her family.
We think that at least she lived a very happy fullfilled life. Not many people can say about themselves that they make such an impact on people, that they travelled the worled, that they loved deeply and that they are loved deeply by so many. That's what she was and will always be LOVED - she will stay in our hearts forever.
This is the last photo our son sent to Rosana...
