To the Thacker family-May you know God's comforting presence.

Good bye Mr Thacker, though only 'til we meet in heaven. At this sad time I can smile at the thought at you being united not only with you dear wife but with your Saviour. You were a great support to my family and your faith a shining testimony. My prayers and condolences to the Thacker family.

Te Puke has lost a favourite son. Your support of Jo through her sickness was the reason we knew she was safe. She succeeded because you cared. We will always remember you.

Mr T, you were the most amazing teacher I ever had, and I would not have got through highschool without your never-ending support and encouragement, not just with maths. You helped me to believe in myself. I still remember ringing you after my first day at uni in Auckland, saying I can't do this Maths! But you told me to just take it a class at a time. And I did pass! I would not be where I am today without you. You will be missed, RIP Mr T. My Condolences to your family. Love Jo

I didn't last that long at TPHS, but in that short time, I learnt your Teacher pet name was "whiskers", I learnt that from the Senior students, anyway, you were one of the kool teachers...Much love to the whanau, and RIP Mr Thacker aka Whiskers....xxooo

A true legend. Maths was always fun with Mr T. Never have I met a person who always put a smile on all faces. Will miss u old friend.

Farewell Mr Thacker. A great teacher to myself & many other students. Maths Class no longer became something we dreaded when we had Mr Thacker. You always had a smile on your face, a great trait to have. Thank you.

RIP. Mr Thacker was instrumental in shaping my life as a young teenager, have never forgotten your wise, warm and kind words.

My condolences to the Family of Mr Thacker,remembering the many times you came to pray the Rosary with our Metuamate Whanau in Feilding. My Prayers & Thoughts are with you & your Family. I have had many teachers for many subjects but none that taught as much as Mr Thacker and most of what he taught me I realised much later in life! It has made me a more enthusiastic teacher myself but he was one of a kind! Rest easy Mr Thacker.

Mr Thacker was one of those special teachers, who instilled far more than just maths. He enouraged you fully, and without reserve. He cared. Not only am I a better person for having known him, but I also improved my grades because of him. My prayers are with you and your family.

Mr Thacker you had the patience of a saint. You never gave up on your students, and when they struggled, you gave them your time until they achieved success. Thank you will never be enough, you will be sadly missed. Rest easy.

Your Dad was a man of mana, not the loud type, but the kind of mana that comes from a depth of spirit, from a compassionate heart and a good sense of humour. We remember Mr Thacker showing us the night sky through the telescope. The Seven Sisters is still my favourite, he had a way of making us dream of the wider world. RIP to a wonderful man and teacher.
