Kia ora e te Whanau,

I've only just discovered the passing of Rangi, which comes as a shock as always thought he would live forever..!

Rangi was a good bloke to me, we had our differences, but he always wanted the best for me.

My relationship started with Rangi
when Governor and May Royal decided to whangai me when I was a
new born...so from then till I was around 20, we remained in contact.
After the death of Whaea May, we drifted apart, busy with our own lives...anyway enough of memory lane, I just want to acknowledge Whaea Val, Helen, Lyn, Donna, Vicky,
my deepest condolences.

Arohamutungakore,

Charles Royal.

Sorry to hear of Rangi´s passing. He was one of those top blokes, a great sportsman, loved Kia Toa, and his playing- coaching days. He carried on playing well after we stopped, it was like he didn´t age; and the Golden Oldies rugby was made for Rangi. It was like a new life, and many benefitted from his generous support and zig-zag runs for the tryline. My condolences to Val, Helen, Lyn and families. He will be truely missed by all who he worked with, played rugby with, and his huge support of the community. RIP Rangi.
