To Gail and family deepest condolences at this sad time.

Ron was a work mate at the Inland Revenue Department in the 1960s, and Team Mate in the Taxes Cricket Club but above all a highly respected friend who would go out of his way to lend a helping hand when called upon. Ron afforded me the honour of being a grooms man at his wedding to Gail the love of his life.
Rest easy now my friend in the game of life you played a great innings you achieved much. I am honoured to be your friend.

I had the pleasure to meet Ron when we co-chaired a session at the World Potato Congress in Cuzco, Peru, in 2018. I enjoyed every single minute of it because of his knowledge about potatoes, his kindness and his great sense of humor. Ron made a friend in the other side of the world. My deep condolences to his wife and family.

Ron was an original - and an original member of the Wellington City Ambassador programme instituted ten years ago. In that time, he must have welcomed thousands of visitors to Wellington and he was a good friend to many of his fellow Ambassadors. WellingtonNZ recognizes his deep knowledge, sense of humour and years of service to the city. Our condolences to family and friends.

Ron we will miss you. Your profound knowledge and the lovely way you imparted it. Your sense of humour and straight talking left one in no doubt you've just been told off in the nicest possible way and encouraged at the same time. We've been robbed Ron of more years of your company.
"Don't be short" will forever ring in my ears when putting. Till we meet again my friend. Our deepest sympathy to Gail and all the Gall family. V
