Roland DUMBLE Obituary

DUMBLE, Roland Lonsdale (Ray). 27 April 1937 - 15 November 2024 Ray left us on the morning of 15 November in the comfort of his home in Papamoa and in the company of family. Beloved husband of Sue (deceased) for 62 years. Father to Ray, Craig and Scott (deceased), Father-in-law to Michele. Very proud grandad of Paige, Bradley, Krista and Chad and great grandad of Leo. Cherished companion and playmate of Ruth Francis. Much loved and respected brother and brother-in-law to Naomi and Alec (deceased) and Joe and Stephanie. Very proud uncle of all his nephews and nieces. Great mate of special cousin Walter. Ray will be missed by all of those that have had the pleasure of knowing him in particular his golfing friends of many years and amazing neighbours of Beachlands Place, Papamoa, you guys' rock. A fun-loving, mischievous man and role model on how to enjoy life to its fullest. The loss of his banter, compassion, and wise advice on and off the golf course and in the neighbourhood will be missed by all. A heartfelt special thanks to the John, Heather and team at Dee St medical centre. The family wish to thank Craig, Rays second son, for the outstanding care, devotion and compassion displayed 24/7 during the last 7 weeks of his life, Craig you are a truly amazing man. A celebration of Rays life will be held at Omanu Golf Club, Matapihi Rd, Mount Maunganui on Monday 25 November at midday. Ray,Craig and families Please accept our Sincere condolences.We were always keen to catch up with your parents when we were up in Tauranga.We often went out together to enjoy a meal at the RSA or similar type restaurant.We also had great times together at a number of the Menzies Clan Gatherings at different places around NZ.I will miss you both very much.Life times of memories.Aunty Frankie.Chris and Frankie Byrne

I think Mum ( Aunty Anne) summed it up when she said once that your mother " got a good one". She did indeed! I remember him as always being very welcoming and jovial whenever we got together which unfortunately was not so much as adults but more so when we were younger. our love is with you /what can I say about the support that Sue & Roul gave to us at Creative Abilities when Scott came to live in Peach Rd. Roul was aways there with a smile and jokes for Maria, Mandy, Julayne & C0.

I can remember many fun & happy times spent with Uncle Rol & Aunty Margaret & the boys when we were all growing up. Such a lovely man - now returned home & reunited with loved ones (including Trudy) Love to Ray & Craig & families.
