My teacher at St Heliers primary for a few years, but wished alot more. The kindest man i have ever met. Hillarious times at boat regattas, and anything water based, always a laugh. More like a father to me.

I had some dealing with Roger who was a gentleman and he allowed me - nay - encouraged me to use his work on my 2 Worcester sites. He had a very interesting life indeed and was an expert on old sailing ships being hands on with many.

In addition to my last message.
As a student of Mr Morris in the 70s I have since by shear coincidence come to know Liam, Roger's great grandson. I will be reminded of "Mr Morris" as I watch him grow. An amazing kid from an amazing family.

Here's to the so many wonderful and lovely memories of a top-notch teacher captured not only in everyday life but on canvas as well that adorn our walls with sincere grateful thanks. Created by the hand of God, we would to think Roger is safely in God's hands along with his beloved Kathleen. Will be sadly missed.

Dear Morris family. Roger Morris was my primary school teacher for two years way back in the 1970's. I had just lost my father and "Mr Morris" was an enormously positive influence in my life at that time, which I have never forgotten. He was a wonderful teacher and by far the best I ever had. I was pleased to reconnect with him by email a couple of years ago and tell him that. I am sure he will be hugely missed by you all, my condolences at this sad time. Kind regards David

I knew you for two years in 1975 & 76 as my teacher at St Heliers Primary School. You were the best & most inspirational teacher I ever had. Some of my classmates from those years are amongst my closest friends to this day. Many fond memories were had.
Rest in peace & condolences to family & friends.

I was very fortunate to have Mr Morris as my form 1&2 teacher at St Heliers primary in the 70s, at a time I needed it the most. He was inspirational and life changing, and taught us enthusiasm and more than just the school curriculum. I remember his murals for the school plays, the boat regattas, his social credit car during the election! Camping at Kawau Island and his tying a wallaby in the tree to give us a rather eye opening practical anatomy lesson. His playing the guitar in class -singing Gunga din, and Red red wine! And having to sand down his boat stored at school as "punishment" for talking too much! Thank you Roger for being a wonderful teacher, for all the love and care you gave to us!

We were so thrilled to meet both Roger and Kathleen when they came over to the UK and spent time with Cousin Barbara and the English cousins. We all enjoyed getting to know you all and admired your sense of adventure, loved hearing about times gone by and learning more of our family´s history.
Sending our love and condolences to Clare, Tim and family.
