We are here meeting at our Folded Wings Coffee morning group and thinking of you and your family. This news has been such a shock to us all. Our love and thoughts are with you.

So glad I got to see you on our last visit Rod. Who knew you were ill? We would never have guessed. Full of beans and energy was our impression in June. Big love to you Lois, my heart is with you.

Rod, we are going to miss you. A close family friendship spanning the last 41 years, sharing so many special times - birthdays, hilarious international dinner nights kids' 21sts, weddings and Christmases together, including the past few in Bowentown, minus kids. Our boys were like brothers. So pleased I had those days in Chch recently, and that Nick and I were able to stand our ground, and get you home for those 10 days, so you could sleep in your own bed and have the sun shining in. And now, 1000's of miles away on our travels, we feel so far away. Lois and family, we will always be there for you. You will miss your rock, and the love of your life, terribly. He was a good man. I worked with Rod on numerous stories for TVNZ's news and the Assignment program as his cameraman.
We travelled to the Uk on two separate occasions, Germany, Russia and Australia. Rod was one of my favorite journalists to work with. Not only was he very professional he was fun to be around, a great travel companion and best of all never got in a bad mood .
Rod would love sit in the back seat of the car for long trips so he could have a snooze I tried to get a photo of him asleep but he'd wake up when a camera was pointed at him .
He'd love to tell stories about his family , flying his flight simulator and golf.
The last time I saw Rod was when I filmed a live shot of him for Seven sharp talking about the famous Bob Jones incident. He was just the same, looking smart slim and plenty of hair.
Lois and his family should be very proud of Rod he was a great New Zealander.

So sad to hear this news. For the past five years, Rod freelanced for our flagship publication, LawNews. He did a great job and will be very much missed. Condolences to his family from all of us at The Law Association.

The King family remember Rod as a connection through shared family events. My 4 sons and I send our send our love and understanding.... especially to Larissa...... at this time of sadness. Memories will be sharp in your thoughts and may this reality sustain you all as you lay Rod TO REST

Rod interviewed my husband several times, we hold great respect for Rod, when his spirit arrives in heaven they will be having a great old chat.
