Donald Purdie
July 14, 2025
Our deepest condolences from the Purdie family to Ann, Andrew, William & David.
I first met Robert at engineering school and had the pleasure of reconnecting with him and the family when we moved to Titirangi in 2003.
My brother and I both had the pleasure of working with Robert over many years - one of the best fire engineers in NZ.
Andrew, William & David have all been blessed with Robert´s adventurous spirit & great sense of humour.
Sorry we could not make it to the funeral to pay our respects.
Rest in peace Robert (...maybe with a Labrador or two on the beach).

Sad to hear of Rob´s passing.
Fond memories of an overnight tramp he and I went on in the Coromandel many years ago, tents and primus stoves - and rain; and drying out in front of a log fire afterwards.
Rob was also groomsman at my brother Chris´s wedding in January `81; they had flatted together in the past.
Condolences to his wife and sons on this sad loss.

Rob, it is with a sad heart that I heard of your passing. Remembering the black tie dinner hosted by you and your flatmate to celebrate the tidying of your bedrooms! Remembering an outrageous weekend a group of us had at the Onemana beach house. But most importantly remembering that it was you who introduced me to Peter (your adjutant) for the Garrison Ball back in 1987. We are still married after 36 years! RIP Rob. Deb Wood (nee Anyon)

Robert was a great colleague with integrity and kindness. He was a great mentor in the NDY office. You will be heavily missed by the Fire Team at NDY.
Heartfelt condolences for Rob's Family and Friends.

How very sad we are to hear of Robert´s passing. We always remember the wonderful summer holidays when you visited your grandparents - who lived opposite us at Raglan. Great times we had swimming together and being kids. Never forgotten.
