"Uncle Bob" I just heard the news, I will miss you so much!
I first met Bob about 2 years ago, I was running a cafe and he walked in, saw I was struggling and randomly just started helping me, he then worked for me for the next year or so.
I will always remember our after work drinks and the hours of conversation we spent making each other laugh, Bob truly was one of the most interesting, intelligent and hilarious people I've had the Pleasure to know and call a friend.
Thankyou for everything Bob.

I met Bob back in the 70s and kept up with him on his visits to Christchurch. Visits that became less frequent and not helped by me being hospitalised with injuries on and off over the past 18 months. I last spent time with Bob when he turned up at my front door in the midst of one of my rehab periods. I note from comments made by Bob’s rugby mates that my memories were similar. Hard to get a word in and I would class Bob as eccentric to say the least. But I enjoyed his company and listening to his history. Unfortunately as I said my life has been severely impacted with injuries so I have not been able to catch up with friends from infamous 70s as we rumble on into the 80s age group.
I shall miss the sessions with Bob. Helen and I pass our condolences to Lex and Bob’s family on their loss.

Fond memories of our times together at Grammar rugby. A kind hearted and welcoming man who will be sadly missed but well remembered. My condolences to his family.
