McKEOWN, Robert Joseph. 25-12-1954 ? 17-10-2016. Passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his family after a long and bravely fought battle. Cherished husband and lifelong soul mate of Lesley. Precious Dad of Alex, Emma and Max and Kathryn and Wade. Adored Poppa of Carlin, Aidan and Ella. Loving son and brother and brother-in-law of Lillian and Ivan, Stan and Joanne, Thomas and Maricel, and Edina. Devoted son-in-law of Ivy. Best uncle to all his much loved nieces and nephews. No more struggle, no more pain. A good man. Special thanks for all of the support and care from Dr Helen McDougall, Dr Ian Gourlay, Hospice EBOP, especially Jean and Sarah, Gaylene and his good mates from Norske Skog, Joe, Patrick and Doddy. Heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Dindy for caring unwaveringly for Robbie right to the end. A promise made and kept. And to my rock Wade, without you, Dad would not have been able to be at home throughout his hard fought journey. A celebration of Robbie?'s life will be held at the Liberty Centre, 65 Wairaka Road, Whakatane at 11am on Thursday 20th October followed by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice EBOP, PO Box 275, Whakatane would be appreciated or may be left at the service. Communication please to the McKeown Family, C/- PO Box 2070, Whakatane.
