Robert IRWIN Obituary

Irwin, Emeritus Professor Robert John (John). Formerly of Parnell and then Selwyn Village. Passed away peacefully on 7th September 2025 aged 91. Dearly loved husband of Kay Irwin. Adored father of Timothy and Jane and father-in-law of Mizuho (deceased) and Matt. Adored grandfather of Sam and Hannah. Cherished brother of the late Mavis and Dorothy. Much-loved brother-in-law of Jim and Don (both deceased) and of Jean and Marvin (deceased). Precious uncle of Robert (deceased) and Pauline, Philip and Robyn (deceased), Stephen and Denise, Susan and Steve, Jonathan and Melanie, and Alan. At the family's request a private cremation has been held. Master of one-liners, John was a kind and generous man, a true gentleman. An informal celebration of John's life will be held at The Hub, Selwyn Village, 43 Target St, Pt Chevalier, at 2pm Friday 19th September.
