Kia ora koutou te whnau, it is with great sadness to hear of the passing of Uncle Robert. I had the pleasure of meeting him not long before the covid lockdown struck our beautiful country. He was with Uncle Bom and called in to see me at my workplace in Masterton. They had been to visit the then, only other surviving comrade of the 28th Mori Battalion Epineha Ratapu. Uncle Robert mentioned how he was looking forward to heading to Sydney, Australia to celebrate his 70th birthday with his daughter who lived in NSW. My deepest condolences, prayers and thoughts are with you all at this sad time.
