Robert GILLBANKS Obituary

Robert was the oldest of four boys.We loved his lively way of being with us. He will be missed so much. My wife Shahla and I wish him all the best as he progresses through the spiritual worlds towards God.

My name is Laurel Gillbanks, married to Faran Gillbanks. Son of Terry Gillbanks. Who is the brother of Rob Gillbanks.

I was flying back to New Zealand after visiting my mother in California. She was undergoing cancer treatment, and after a week of helping her, I was tired, emotionally drained, and facing a long layover before my final flight to Wellington.

Though we had never met, Rob and Lorraine opened their home to me - the newly married Gillbanks. I was welcomed with warm smiles, a cozy hug, and a comfortable place to rest. Their kindness was overwhelming.

The next morning, over a lovely breakfast, Rob and Lorraine chatted with me like old friends while their affectionate dogs curled up nearby. Rob´s ora-his presence and energy-filled the room.

Even though our time together was brief, I will never forget Rob´s generosity, his warmth, and the comfort he gave me in a moment when I truly needed it. I feel so blessed to have met him.

To the family, Robert was my cousin. He was part of a family much loved by my sister and I. We send our love at this time. Aroha from Taranaki

My dearest friend Lorraine and family my heart breaks for you all,Rob was a Dear loving Husband Dad and friend, he loved working in his garden,and helping people,and oh boy he was the best at cooking fish & chips on a Friday night. You will be very sadly missed Rob R.I.P

So sorry to see you go Rob. You were a great father-in-law and a pleasure to have around.
