ALEXANDER, Robert Brown (Bob) Royal Navy 1943 - 1947 Service No JX570978. On 17 December 2014, after 88 years of a life well and truly lived. Beloved husband and life-long companion of Iris. Greatly loved and respected Father and Father-in-Law of Keith and Anne and Moira and Geoff. Cherished Grandfather ("BobBob") of James and Olivia and a special presence in the lives of Rebecca, Simon, Stephanie and Alexandra. Loved brother of Matsie Howe and the late John Alexander of Kilrea, County Londonderry. Born in Kilrea but a man belonging to the world, Bob's life spanned boyhood in rural Northern Ireland, D-Day and the far east during wartime, outback Queensland, colonial Fiji, his "realm" in Devonport, politics (blue of course), trout fishing and good malt whisky. Not a bad combination and at the end of it all he was the first to say, "Now don't you go making any fuss". A service will be held at the North Shore Memorial Park Crematorium, 235 Schnapper Rock Road, Albany, on Monday 22 December at 2:30 p.m. No flowers by request. Email communications to
