Dear Lynne,

Di (nee Emery, ex St Cuths) and I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to you and family for Richard (RW) loss, we were saddened to hear such last night from Peter Ferguson.

My association with Richard dates back to the Kings days, where we were both prefects, and to the Wade River days with summer b´bques between the two families (we had a bach at Stanmore). From there, there was a purchase of a property in Queenstown (a dud!!!) and my association with him at Butler White and SG.

It was in November 1975 that I met Di at a Guy Fawkes party at what was to be your future home in Victoria Avenue, 11 months later Richard was to be our Best Man.

Since moving to Tauranga in 1977, as often happens, we go in opposite directions, though at a reunion a few years ago I had a long chat with him as if those "lost" days never existed.

Unfortunately, I am off overseas on Tuesday so can not make the funeral so please pass on our apologies and wish you and family all the very best for the future.

Kind regards

David (Dutch) and Di
