WALKEY, Doctor Richard Jonathan Charles 12.06.1927 - 16.05.2015 At Franklin Village, Pukekohe. Loved father and father-in-law of Jonathan and Julie (Wales), and the late Robert, and Granddad of Beth and Katie. Dear friend of Wendy and Graham Russell. Sincere thanks to all the staff at Franklin Village for their wonderful care over the past nine years. In keeping with his wishes a private cremation has been held.

So sad to hear of the passing of this great man. He was a wonderful doctor, never rushed, incredibly empathetic, and one of the last of the true calling. Wendy, you were the Robyn to Batman, and he once told me how appreciated you were. I left Manurewa almost twenty years ago, but have never forgotten the twenty plus years of treatment, professionalism and utter integrity of Dr Richard Walkey as my family G.P. Rest in well deserved peace.
