You've "flown to the moon' and we bet you're "dancing amongst the stars" in your gumboots Uncle and Brother Dick... with your wit, intellect and sense of kindness you taught us all to do it "my way!" While we may miss your cheeky smile more than words can adequately or concisely articulate we know that "that's life" so we will live it to the fullest in your honour...with a dog by our side of course. Love you, Sir! Christine, Paula, Hilton, Blake, Leah, and Daria ...endless sloppy hugs and kisses xxxxooooxxx

Sometimes in life we meet special people that we never forget. Dick was one of those people for me. In my mind, whenever I think of Dick, it is the early 1970's and I see him through the window of the laboratory at Auckland Milk Corporation, heading for the tea room. Always together, I see the diminutive Dick and the lanky Ian Logan. They are both wearing white overalls, white gumboots and little white caps, and they are happy and laughing. Everyone at the Milk Corp loved Dick and Ian. They brought sunshine to us all.
Knowing Dick was a great privilege. He was a kind and gentle soul, had a huge heart of gold, and by all accounts had an inspiring future ahead of him. My sympathy to Kathy, George, Frank and Michael.

Sending all my love, thoughts and prayers to my family at this difficult time. Will forever cherish the memories. You were such a massive part of my childhood, taught me to ride a motorbike, reverse a trailer, love the land and the open air, work the dogs, feed out to bulls and look after the many flocks of sheep and lambs every school holidays for years and years and there was so so much more. You were so patient with me. Your wisdom and strong personality just made me love you so much more. My younger years were so blessed to have you in them. And having you walk me down the aisle was such a treasured moment. Sending all my love to Aunty Kathy, George, Frank and Michael. Rest In Peace and Love Uncle Dick. Until we meet again.

Loved and respected brother-in-law of Colleen and John and a treasured uncle of Alex and Jason, Tara, Kyla and Jako.
Our memory banks are rich with adventures of fishing trips, family get-togethers with teasing and jokes that Tara didn't always get and special Friday afternoon teas. He supported our education and followed our many endeavours.
He battled bravely to the end and has left a legacy of three fine young men and a loving family.
Rest in peace, Richard.

Amazing Uncle
