Echo my brother's words. A great family friend, loyal, honorable, and a great influence on myself and many others throughout the country. Sadly missed, never forgotten. Rest in peace Richard.

Richard had a major impact on my life in primary school and he was an incredibly positive light in my early years. I was in touch with him over the years and we remained friends. I was lucky to see him twice this year before he passed away. He has had a huge impact on my family as well. Rest in peace Richard and love to the family

Hi to the Family of Mr Pengelly, He was my headmaster at Newstead model country school, Hamilton, NZ somewhere between 1955 to early 1960's. He was a very popular teacher with students and parents. I would just like to send you my deepest sympathy in the loss of your dad and grandfather. Robyn (Moreland) Ryan
