Some years ago, my daughter and I had a long coversation with Richard and Patience one evening at the Northern Club. It was indeed memorable, firstly for the fact that they were a delightful couple, and secondly for their shared interest and achievements in the field of flying. Only met them once, but the fact of the memory of that meeting remaing vivid after all these years says it all.

A true gentleman with the sharpest wit.
You always made time to speak with me. No conversation was ever short and always left me smiling.
I will miss visiting you to shoot the breeze and hope you rest easy my old friend.

Dear Richard, it was my absolute pleasure to be your PA in the years prior to you and Patience moving to Taupo. I always had the greatest admiration and respect for your fearless entrepreneurialism, your generosity in sharing your successes with others and the belief that a handshake was your bond. But most of all I will remember with great fondness your cheeky smile and laugh, your kindness and your dedication to Patience..... a great team united again. Rest well. With much love, Wendy

My memories of Dick are of a caring, driven and charismatic man who had the ability to light up a room, and with Patience made a unique and unbeatable team.
Will be missed.
Richard Kay.
