Richard HENSHAW Obituary

Richard was a wonderful boss who cared about his team and his clients, and was deeply committed to his job. He always brought calm, patience, respect and good humour to his professional interactions. That set the tone.

More than that, he was so very proud of his wonderful family, and he loved to share. He was a special person who touched the lives of those who knew him.

My deepest sympathies to Richard's loved ones and friends.

We are proud to have been part of Richard´s circle. He was an honest loyal colleague who always had time to listen and, if prompted would offer constructive feedback. His ability to be a creative, critical thinker with a wicked, dry sense of humour which made people feel at ease. He was an honourable family man. He will be missed but never forgotten.

I worked with Richard on and off since the 1990s. He was a fine advocate for the Department of Labour and latterly MBIE. I greatly enjoyed his wit and intellect and still recall his efforts to bill me for his time when I spoke to him in passing. A truly great guy.

My deepest sympathy to your family at this sad time. Although I only worked with Richard for a short time, I really valued his expertise, commitment and warm and friendly manner. He was very supportive to me when I joined the organisation and he will be much missed. He leaves behind a professional and personal legacy to be very proud of.

HENSHAW, Richard James. Passed away 7th of January 2022; aged 66 years. Richard coped with life's trials without complaint and entertained us with a quirky sense of humour. Dearly loved son of proud parents, the late Lorna and George Henshaw. Loved brother and mate of Clifford, loved brother of Jane (Jenny), the late Glenda, and devoted brother of Andrew. Loved and respected by nieces and nephew Darlene, Justine and Robert, his great nieces and nephews and will be missed by relatives in the U.K. You now know what we have yet to find out. Rest in Peace
