To Hugh and all your family
Rhona was always the welcoming presence at ESOL meetings. She will be remembered for her tireless efforts as a pioneer in teaching English to speakers of other languages. Her ability to greet people in their native language always impressed me. She will be mourned by all who knew her. With deepest sympathy, Jenny Sew Hoy Agnew and Trevor Agnew.

Rhona's legacy is the greater awareness of the educational needs of second language learners, especially those of refugees. She not only lobbied administrators but also provided guidance and leadership for those of us teachers who lacked the vision that shem had. I admired her greatly and will always remember her passion and principled approach to her work. Her family can feel justly proud of her achievements.
Rod and I are in Europe at the moment so will be unable to join the memorial service but will be with you in spirit.
