SOPER, Rex Leslie. (Service No. 7969, Signalman, RNZN, WWII). Peacefully at Tairua Residential Care, on 7 February, 2012; Rex's 87th birthday. Dearly loved husband and soul mate for the past 32 years of Lorraine. Dearly loved father of Terry, Peter, Michelle (Australia), Jamie (Australia) and their partners. Loved adopted father of Raewyn, and Wayne, and loving step-Dad of Sharon, and Philip. Cherished Poppa and great-grandpoppa of his many grandchildren. A celebration of Rex's life will be held at St Francis Anglican Church, Main Road, Tairua, on Saturday 11 February, at 10am, followed by private cremation. In lieu of flowers donations to the Royal New Zealand Foundation Of The Blind would be appreciated and may be left at the service or posted to PO Box 854, Hamilton.
