Reuben ELLEY Obituary

ELLEY, Rev. Reuben Donald (Don). Peacefully on 5th August 2012 at Lansdowne Private Hospital Botany. aged 87 years. Much loved husband of Val, father and father-in-law of Donald, Margie and Roger, Fergus and Helen, Fiona and Callum. Beloved funny Grandad of Sarah, Shonn, Rebeccah, Joesph, Cosmo, Jeremy, Christy, Anna, Hamish, Nathan, Alana and Jeff, Joel, Jemimah, and Cassie. "My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth" Special thanks to all the staff at Lansdowne Home and Hospital for their tender and devoted care of Don for the past 8 years. A celebration of Don's life will be held at St Columba's Presbyterian Church, Botany on Friday 10th August at 2pm followed by private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to Laidlaw College may be left at the church or posted to Private Bag 93104, Henderson. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time, yet also rejoicing knowing that Don can be free from illness and the constraints of this physical life.
Don was an amazing Godly inspiration, encourager and a fun loving person whom, I think might even now be organising and arranging things in heaven.

Mrs Elley and family, Don was a great man and will be missed by many we're sure. Jeremy and I remember him very well from our years at St Columba. He was wise, full of faith, positive and always was interested in others...great characteristics in any pastor. Our thoughts & prayers are with you all in your time of loss.
