Raymond PORTER Obituary

PORTER, Raymond (Ray). 19 April 1942 - 02 April 2024 At Waiapu House, Havelock North, Ray passed away after a long and brave contest with Parkinson's Disease. Treasured husband of Louise, father/ father-in-law of Kate and Rich, Sophie and Anesh; much loved grandad (G'Dad) of Jacob and Hollie, Ellie and Johno, Isaac, Dominic, Molly, Madi, Ruby and Olivia. Many, many thanks to the staff and our friends at Waiapu House who have cared for Ray and supported us over the last 18 months. You helped us cope with a challenging disease. We shall celebrate the life of the man we loved in Auckland at a later date. Rest In Peace.

Ray and I worked together at Whitireia Polytechnic. We shared the office together for years. He always spoke with love about the Christmas carols at his home and the fabulous dinner that Louise cooked. He spread joy and laughter wherever he went. He and Louise attended our daughters wedding too. He will surely leave a gap in our lives. Condolences to the entire family from Joseph Rosita and family, Auckland. May his soul rest in peace.
