The man that played a huge part in my "coming of age" in an Infantry section.Showed me how to slam dunk steak dinners at the Rollie, how a big fulla can move with a gun during battle drills, how to get smashed on a league field when you are the smallest and showed us all what a great guy he really was. Can't believe bro that we were kidding about the old days at the airport just over 2 months ago. Will never forget you mate. Rest easy

Mon Conan, love from your Alyg8r

March 28, 2015

My Darling Conan (Raph), You left me so suddenly but now you are home. For 13 years you were my partner and an integral part of my life and we have shared so many, many memories.
13 years have passed and the treasured memories are ours forever, the talks we've had, the laughs, the tears, the fun, the adventures, that smile of yours, and making plans for the future.
A league fan you were and I was to enjoy many days and nights sitting watching a game. There was never a movie you hadn't seen and the music we shared was memorable.Rick Astley, our favourite Hold me in your arms, the one song we both always stopped for and sung along because the words meant so much to us.
The fun in Dubai and our memorable stay in the Burj Al Arab, the Maldives and the flight we missed because you had forgotten to turn your watch back, but we got there in the end, Hong Kong and the glitzy Macau and Kuaotunu, our favourite holiday place that holds very special moments in our hearts.
You loved the peace and tranquillity of the nature and a home cooked roast. The huge meals you cooked for me were amazing, who knew you were such a great cook.
Our adventurous trips that we enjoyed together, the 4 x 4 quad biking, diving, the High zone in Whitianga and the bike trails.
I will miss all the little notes you used to leave for me around the house, they always made me smile.
In the evening I can look at the night sky and find the star that you named for me.
You have claimed a part of my heart that will always belong to you
"Colourful" my darling
Always and forever, your Alyg8r (Alison)xxx

To: AJ, Lance and Sipi, and Pereira family at large.

I am so sorrowful and saddened of your tragic loss that words cannot do justice for this sad grievance.

From those years way back in Waiouru, when myself and Raph were young fathers with families, and not to be forgotten footy, to just recently; the bond was always there.

Raph was such an incredible person with the very special ability to connect on all levels with so many.

Please accept my families sincere sympathy on your sad sad loss. I will miss him greatly.

To Raph

You and I will meet again
When we're least expecting it
One day in some far off place
I will recognize your face
I won't say goodbye my friend
For you and I will meet again
