Rajeshwar BHATNAGAR Obituary

BHATNAGAR, Rajeshwar Sarup (Sir Roger). Born October 26, 1942. Passed away on November 07, 2022. Bhatnagar, Sir Rajeshwar Sarup (Sir Roger) KNZM. Died after a long period of ill health at on 7 November 2022, aged 80 years. Survived by Aaron and Mara, Anita and Blair, grandchildren Sebastian, Alexander, Christopher, Jack, Brontë and Gia, and former wife Dee. Special thanks to Summerset at Heritage Park's Care Centre and 7 St Vincent Remuera for their care for Sir Roger over the last 13 years. I first met Sir Roger in the early 1980's when he visited our showroom in Mt Eden. I was the Auckland Branch Manager for Pye NZ Ltd.At the time Pye NZ had leading market share in CTV and HiFi(Akai Pye Audio &Prolab) segments.He became a very important customer.Our association extended to Farburn Wright [Toshiba Consmer Electronics and appliances).He & Ross Kirkland were responsible for NZ first VCR selling under $999.(They were normally selling for Around $1499 then).Certainly a associated with "stack them high see them move" principle Sir Roger and Ross used in the Auckland market.Our association extended throught to the late 1990's where I was selling Whirlpool whiteware to Noel Leamings.He was an excellent businessman client and friend to me and my family.
Rest in peace Sir Roger and our deepest sympathy to his family.
