Raaja YACOUB Obituary

YACOUB, Raaja. Passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, at the home of Papakura Keringle Park. Born in 1954, aged 71 years. Cherished daughter of the late Glades Elias Helo and Kamil Meka (Sheikh II). Mother of Thamer Yacoub-Hedo, and grandmother of Valentina Yacoub-Hedo. Sister of the late Yacoub Yacoub, and sister of Najlah Yacoub and Raad Yacoub. Beloved aunt of Raghad, Rasha, Rawaa, Sara, and Silvia. The service will be held on Thursday 4 April 2025, at St Mary's Catholic Church Papakura, 46 East Street, Papakura, at 11am. Following the service, burial will take place at Manukau Memorial Gardens, 361 Puhinui Road, Wiri, Auckland. Condolences and a shared meal will follow at St Addai Chaldean Catholic Church Hall Papatoetoe, 505 Great South Road, Papatoetoe. Condolences will be accepted until 7.30pm. She was the embodiment of unconditional love, humility, and forgiveness, a quiet strength who touched every heart she met. Her life was a living example of grace under hardship, dignity in silence, and compassion without limits. Her presence will be missed, but her light lives on.
