Kindest wishes and sincere condolences are sent to all of David's family and friends, by each of David's Otago Dental School colleagues - especially those who graduated BDS with him in Dunedin on 10 December 1976. David was known to us all as a much loved friend - someone who was proud of his family and his Otago heritage - and someone who always had a ready smile and a great sense of humour. Particularly big hugs are sent to dear Robbie - David's much loved son, his pride-and-joy. Be strong dear Robbie - and steer your ship straight and true in memory of your proud Dad. We wish you every success in the years to come. Please feel free to make contact if ever you re close by.
Kia Kaha dear Dave - I will miss you my good mate. Nigel Beer, Gail McLean and families

From dental colleagues Elisabeth Cornille and Peter Langley. After University we rarely met up with Dave but when we did at class reunions Dave was always still the same kind-hearted, gentle and sincere person we had always known in our days at Otago University. In Belgium, 12 October 2017 I (Elisabeth) coincidentally met up with Dave at the Commemoration of the Battle of Passchendaele, the darkest day in NZ's military history with the loss of 846 lives. Dave's presence was a witness to his profound respect for his own who fought and died there in Flanders. Rest in Peace Dave. Elisabeth and Peter.
