We humbly announce the passing of our beautiful son, brother, dad and husband, Puniloa Auatama Tapaleao, on Saturday, February 15, 2025 - after a short but very brave fight with cancer, after six years of being in remission. He was 69.
A proud son of Tapaleao Va'alele and Saimealafo Tapaleao of Toamua, Faleata, Samoa. A loving husband to Gafaomalietoa Tauamafili, dedicated dad and father-in-law to Timuiaipaepaetele Lealaiauloto Vaimoana and Mase Va'aaoao Josh Mase, loved godfather to Christina, precious uncle to many and dear brother to Ma'ilata Opapo, Tapaleao Lafita'i, Vaimoana, Rev Sapati, Rev elder Talia, Tunumafono Palemene, Rev Semo and Leao Lafita'i.
We thank God for this precious man He blessed us with - one who brought lots of humour, music, a cheerful spirit and laughter to any room and situation. A faithful servant to his God to the very end. Even when facing death he had a smile, joke or word of encouragement to share. You showed us what true faith looks like, dad. True love.
Dad's family service will be held tonight (Thursday) at Te Atatu EFKS, 472 Te Atatu Rd, West Auckland at 6pm. His final farewell will be tomorrow at the same church at 10am.
"And now these three remain: Faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love." - 1 Cor 13:13
