Philomena TURNEY Obituary

TURNEY, Sister Philomena rsj (Nora Teresa). On February 7, 2025, died peacefully at Eastcliffe Retirement Village and Aged Care. Much loved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart. Loved daughter of the late John and Catherine Turney, loved sister of Frank, Jack, Fred, Leo, Kathleen, Eileen, Margaret and Joan (all deceased). Much loved aunt to her nieces, nephews and their families. May Philomena be at peace. Gracious thanks to our Healthcare workers at Mary MacKillop Centre and Staff at Eastcliffe Retirement Village Caress for their loving care of Philomena. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 13th February at 11am at Mary MacKillop Centre Chapel, 56 Selwyn Avenue, Mission Bay, to be followed by interment at Waikaraka Cemetery. A Vigil Service will be held at the above Chapel on Wednesday 12th at 4.30pm. Requiem Mass will be live- streamed. Aroha Funerals 095270266

Deepest sympathies to Sr Philomena's family. We first met her at St Joseph's Convent school in Paeroa where she taught some of my siblings in the early 1970s. My Parents (Pat and Maryann Gallop) kept in touch with Sr Philomena until their passing a few years ago. May she rest in peace.
