Phillip Ridley Obituary

RIDLEY, Phillip Keith. (Phil). Suddenly at his own home on 2nd April 2011. Aged 19 years. If we could have a lifetime wish A dream that would come true, We'd pray to God with all our hearts For yesterday and You. A thousand words cant bring you back We know because we've tried, Neither will a thousand tears We know because we've cried. You left behind our broken hearts And happy memories too But we never wanted memories We only wanted You. Much loved son of Maxine (Mum) and Wayne and Gary (Dad) and Nicole. Awesome brother and friend of Sean and Taylor, Ethan, Brooke and Christopher. Cherished grandson of Jeanette and Keith (late) Ridley, Ann and Bill (late) van Daalen and Robyn and Bryan (late) Williams. Loved by all his aunts, uncles and cousins. Phil's funeral service will be held in Grahams Funeral Home Chapel, West Street, Tuakau at 1pm tomorrow (Thursday) and later at the Tuakau Cemetery.

My name is Imogen. I'm Phil's little sister who was born 2 years after his passing. We share a birthday. I always get asked if I'm affected by me sharing a birthday with him. If anything I enjoy it more than not wanting it to happen. Every year we go to the cemetery on my birthday and take burger king and rainbow cake. And every year I imagine what would happen if he was still here. I think to myself what an amazing big brother he would be to me. When I close my eyes I see him. When I listen to his favorite song lemon tree I hear him. When I see Sean I see him. When I live he's right there next to me ghost or not. Love you Philly.

I can´t believe it´s been almost 13 years. I still remember our sleepovers; playing Nintendo 64 games all night. I still think about you and wish I could have seen the person you would be today. You are dearly missed.
