To Phil, from the first day we met some time ago and on finding our shared background and interest in aviation, your abstract sense of humour I knew we would be great friends. The stories, laughs and lies we have shared typical of our Irish roots was a great delight I never tired of. Gobsmacked you have been taken from us and so suddenly. When we were taking the micky out of each other as usual just over a week ago right before you were off to hospital I expected to be doing the same again in a few days after your procedure. I am deeply sad I can't do that, but delighted you are one of the good buggers I got to know in life. Swendrini, my thoughts are with you and your family. May you find a way to traverse the grief at this time and remember the happy fun times of Phil as he goes to his place of rest.
